Tim Brown

Initially studying at The University of Greenwich before completing his Diploma at Liverpool John Moore’s University, Tim is a highly experienced architect with a portfolio of award-winning work across the UK, the Middle-East and Asia.
Tim first joined Ellis Williams in 2000, before leaving to take a role as Director of Architecture at Broadway Malyan in 2005 where he helped to grow their Education Team, working on many major Further Education and University projects in the UK and Asia.
Since re-joining Ellis Williams in 2015, Tim has been a Director in our London studio, building on the Practice’s existing reputation for award-winning Education projects to win a number of major school and college commissions across London and the South of England. His current remit is practice-wide, working from both the London and Manchester studios. He is also the Director responsible for the practice’s IT systems, ensuring that we are maximising the use of latest technology to deliver sustainable and award-winning architecture.
Specialising in Further and Higher Education design, Tim is involved in developing and benchmarking emerging principles in exemplar design within these sectors, ensuring that knowledge and expertise are disseminated throughout the practice. Tim also has a specialism in Archive design, leading architectural teams on the Michael Marks Archive at Leeds University, the West Yorkshire History Centre in Wakefield and two current Cheshire Archives schemes.
