The team are drawing close to completion at the new Support Centre for The Joshua Tree a Cheshire based Children’s Cancer Charity operating across the North West and North Wales. The charity is dedicated to working closely with families affected by childhood cancers. John Turner Construction building the new facility are due to handover in February 2020.
Nestled in the Cheshire countryside on a beautiful site adjacent to ancient woodland the design for the new purpose-built Support Centre for The Joshua Tree has been inspired by its setting snaking around existing oak trees embracing the organic beauty of the site. The centre will provide a cocooned ‘heart space’ open to families and offering a tranquil setting during their experiences of childhood cancer and beyond.
The new centre will provide a destination that will allow families and visitors to pop in and to be with one another in a relaxed setting. The centre will accommodate children of all ages from toddlers through to teenagers and will feature a multi-functional activity room, counselling suites, soft play and sensory equipment, a games room, office facilities, an outdoor play area and landscaped gardens all of which will further enhance the support service. The heart space will be used to host events and activities to continue with the fundraising for the charity and to bring the local community together.
