Chorley Council has granted planning permission for the large-scale redevelopment of FI Real Estate Management’s Botany Bay site.
As Masterplan Lead, EWA were responsible for coordination and delivery of a single outline planning application for four separate sites, one to create a retail outlet village, two residential schemes providing 288 homes and one employment area providing 300,000 sq ft of logistics space.
The outlet village proposal includes c223,211sqft of market-driven accommodation (a mix of new build A1 / A3 tenures) in for retail units of various sizes, arranged around a central street with strong links to the existing heritage Botany Bay Mill complex, surrounding landscape and the Leeds and Liverpool canal.
The main heritage mill building will retain its current use of mixed office / retail and will be supplemented by a ground floor A3 Food and Beverage offer.
The village itself has been designed to complement the current waterside location and be seamlessly integrated with new public realm and existing landscape.
