Our construction partner Willmott Dixon brought together pupils, education leaders and project partners to celebrate progress on the construction phase of the new school and giving guests a chance to see progress first hand.
The new school, designed by Ellis Williams, will become the new state-of-the-art home for 1500 pupils. Spread across a 19-acre site, with flexible teaching spaces for science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics.
Included in the new scheme are two sports halls, all-weather sports pitch, multi-use games area (MUGA), staff car parking and cycle storage. Once construction is complete the existing school buildings will undergo demolition.
Sustainability is embedded into the design of Mosslands, supporting the DfE’s and the School’s ambitions towards sustainability. Designed to be Net Zero Carbo in Operation and integrating low-carbon technologies such as photovoltaic panels, air source and ground source heat pumps.
Secured through the DfE Construction Framework and forming part of the DfE’s School Rebuilding Programme Mosslands School will be an exemplar for education projects in the North West.
